I need to replace the hard drive in my Macbook Pro and am not sure which hard drive will work. My current drive has pretty much failed and it won't boot.

I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro with a 750GB 5400-rpm serial ATA hard drive and am looking for the specs of hard drives that will work with my macbook. Also how I would format the drive if it needs to be formatted at all.
I have found a lot of serial SATA and have seen things saying that SATA will work but since my Mackbook's specs say ATA drive I'm not sure if that is really the case or not. Thank you

You need a 2.5" Serial ATA HDD with a maximum height of 12.5 mm.
