Viewsonic just made 2 new LCD displays that have only 3ms video response time compared to the Dell's 12ms and Apple's 16ms response time. They are the following:

    VX724 - 17" 1280x1024
    VX924 - 19" 1280x1024

Dell and Apple should update their displays soon so that they can compete although the new Viewsonic's are currently limited to this resolution and not widescreen.

I researched this topic a while back (I was looking at tge Viewsonic 8ms monitors), and what I learned is just because it has a lower ms that it doesn't mean it's better. A lot of people with the Viewsonic 8 ms monitor weren't happy with it, so I couldn't justify the price tag. I think that if a monitor has a reasonable low ms rating, it will be just fine. I love my Apple display and it's 16 ms.

I've been using a 50ms (!) panel for years, and it never bothered me. Meh.
