I got excited over nothing
There's nothing juicy on that link
It's the best sign of hope yet for an update. I'm clinging to it.
I hope it's true but citing a random anonymous reader as the source isn't very reassuring. At this point, I am willing take even the slightest of hardware update (to prove that Apple is still committed to this "hobby" product).
I would consider an Apple TV, but they have much too small of drives, have too low of resolution, and just don't tend to get updates as much as I would like. 720P makes a huge difference on a 110" screen compared to 1080P, especially at 10 feet or less away. 7.1 surround would help as well. For now, I am considering Netflix downloads on my Xbox 360.
No validity to the story, but it is about time for an Apple TV update.
Your are not going to get 1080P content from netflix watch it now either. (Voodoo has the best quality as far as downloaded material goes, but other than that you might as well stick with TV)
