Should I enable Quartz 2d Extreme on my new machine? I really dont know much about this since I have an iBook now that does not support core image. This new monster is still something new to me. But I am just looking for the best performance possible.

    iMac Core Duo 2Ghz
    2GB DDR2 667
    ATi x1600 256MB

You will not see any improvments, in fact, things will run much slower in most cases.

It's still beta, and the software needs to support it. I cannot think of any software off my head that does.

Leave it off, and wait to 10.6.

Install the developer tools and use Quartz Debug.

It's buggy and can cause screen corruption at the moment though. If Apple can sort out the problems it would be a really cool technology...
