    Hi all,
Steve Jobs said at his keynote address a few days ago that the new intel macs would not support all software (one of them being Final Cut which I use everyday) he said that it would be "universal" in March but he said the this software called Roseta will allow you to use non universal apps with the new intel macs. So will Final Cut work on the new macs with Roseta?

I doubt you can do anything really useful with FCP in the Intel iMacs, since I'm guessing Firewire output is a no-go. You should be able to run FCP, but no one really knows, since FCP is tied so closely with OSX PPC that Rosetta could fail to run it.

Whatever the case, you could still buy the iMac and wait for FCP to be ported to UB. That's what I'll be doing.

But coming as universal binary in March -

"Does Final Cut Studio run on the new Intel-based Mac computers?

The current version of Final Cut Studio is not supported on Intel-based Mac computers with Rosetta. A Universal version of Final Cut Studio will be available before the end of March 2006. Universal applications are designed to run flawlessly on both Intel- and PowerPC-based Mac computers."
