Anyrumors on Apple producing new iMacs? If so at what speed?
...They just came out with new intel iMacs...
Intel iMacs were just released.
I posted this in another thread:
Out of curiosity I looked at the buyers guide for the amount of time between updates. The shortest time was 71 days for the introduction of the then new 20" iMacs. The next shortest period is up to the introduction of the newest iMacs at 90 days. Apple had good reason to try to push a new Mac out at Macworld and gave us the iMacs (and MPBs). If you discount the short time frame for these two "tweener" updates the average time frame goes from 181 days to 236. BTW the longest time difference was 287 days, 358 if you discount the addition of the 20" iMac as an upgrade (as opposed to a processor change).
Whatever the case may be I could see Apple applying the new upgrade, but probably not until a while yet. Even at 71 days between updates we are looking at late March (3/22), 90 days is early April (4/10). I wouldn't think it likely, but obviously it has happened before. An average time frame would place the upgrade sometime after early July.
I have too much time on my hands, and it's all based on past experience. It has nothing to do with little things like the availability of parts, effects on the market and little things like that. Anyway, I would guess you would not see an upgrade until early summer, maybe for WWDC or soon after for the new school year buying season
I see, still i cant understand why did Apple release intel iMacs and MBpro so so early since most major companies havent yet released their apps in universal binaries format. Look at Adobe and Microsoft and and and...
It has also been said that iMacs dont sell well and the reason are UBinaries is that correct?
Thats partly true, professionals that use adobe products everyday will probably not use the new intel macs until adobe updates, even though both Abobe and Microsoft products will work in the emulator software (Rostetta) included on the intel Macs.
For home users, intel macs are selling quite well, just most people may be waiting for the second revisions so that any teething problems have been sorted.
teething problems? like? the firewire800 perhaps thats said that it doesnt cooperate well with the new dcore chips and thats the reason that its taken out from the MBpro?
examples in the pass, when the 15" powerbooks AL came out they formed white spots on the screen.
Intel iMac video Problems Rev a
potential problems of the MacBook Pro
The list could go on. I always wait!
Doubt it will be updated any time soon. Maybe late spring/ early summer? They'll probably put the 2Ghz in the 17" and the 2.16Ghz in the 20" and probably go X1600 Pro and X1600 XT, like they did with the X600s in the last G5 iMac revision. Well that's my guess anyway.
Personally, I'm waiting for Apple to release a 23" iMac
Thats a speculation/rumor/wish or have they said anything about that?
That's a wish btw. I don't think there's any rumors on it, but I don't think it's too farfetched.
