Hi all...I'm new to the forum but no stranger to browsing the site. I've just purchased my first Mac ever today (despite being an avid want-to-be Mac user) from one of the Apple retail stores. :D Decided to go for the "stacked" Mini w/ Superdrive. Looks great, feels great, and I've never felt so excited about a computer purchase. Even got a "surprise" corporate discount at checkout for being an employee of a large US telecom company. I guess it helps to unknowingly keep your badge on after work. :p

    Congratulations!
You're going to be VERY happy with it; the Mini is one cool computer.

What type of display are you planning using with it?

    I guess I'm "the man"...

I'm planning on upgrading to the 1gb of RAM as soon as funds allow...any suggestions for that (where to purchase, etc)?

And I'm using a 15" NEC LCD...nothing earth-shattering, but it gets the job done.

The primary advice is to buy from somewhere reputable that guarantees Mac compatibility and offers a lifetime warranty on their RAM.
The most commonly mentioned sites that I have seen are (in no particular order):
    www.crucial.com
    www.datamem.com
    www.macsales.com (also known as OWC)

All of these sites meet the criteria I stated above.
If you search the forums under "RAM," you'll find many threads addressing this issue and people's experiences with these & other sites.

Good luck & enjoy your new baby!
