Hello I am new to mac and the mac operating system , hopefully some of you can help awnser a few of my questions.

I run alot of graphic programs such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash etc . These program are running very slow in OSX is this normal? I am running a brand new MBP 2 duo 17 inch 2GB of ram and it takes 10 seconds just to fire up dreamweaver! Thats with nothing else loaded!

Coming from windows, a computer that had less memory and cpu these programs use to load up in about 2 seconds.

I did format the drive when I first received it. I then restored it with the installation CD, would that have anything to do with it? Anyone else have these "slow loading" problems running their programs?

I installed bootcamp and put windows on just to test it out. Windows runs faster than ever which leads me to believe maybe something is setup wrong in OSX?

Any suggestion or help would be great!

    Thanks for your time,

All those apps are yet to be released in Intel-native "Universal" versions by their respective developers. As such they are running in an emulation layer called "Rosetta" created by Apple that allows programs designed to run on PowerPC processors to run on Intel processors. Because the programs you stated aren't even meant to run on Intel processors I think it's amazing they run at the speed they do.

The Universal version of Adobe Creative Suite and also Microsoft Office (the last two big applications yet to be made Universal) are due for release later this year - you will have to purchase them though as they will be brand new versions.
