I just purchased a black MacBook, and so far I've been very happy with it. The build quality is excellent, and well worth the premium. However, when I insert any of my Adobe CS 1 installation discs ... the MacBook spits them back out and refuses to mount them.

There are no major scratches or problems with the CDs, and they mount (and install) fine on my G4. However, they are unrecognizable on the MacBook. I've had no other problems with the drive besides this.

I contacted Adobe to obtain a replacement set, however they no longer provide Creative Suite 1.x discs, just CS 2.

I have also tried booting the G4 in firewire target mode and the G4's hard drive and the Adobe CD both mount on my MacBook. However, when selecting the CS installation app on the MacBook the icon bounces a few times and just disappears.

I'm all out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Can you clone the disk/s on your G4 with something like Toast? In these circumstances, it's probably justified.

When we installed 4 sets of CS1 at work a couple of years, one set of CDs was faulty. I just used one of the other sets of CDs and used the correct serial from the faulty set.

Alright I've tried to create an image using Disk Utility, and about 75 percent through the first installation disc the program reports a input/output error. :(
