    Big deal...

NZ already has an online Apple store of sorts - www.totallymac.com. It's laid out in a similar way to the "real" Apple store, and features Apple as well as third party hardware and software. So it's not like the Renaissance Apple Store is something new.

The only advantage to the real Apple Store would be build-to-order hardware. But they've said they're not doing that yet, so what's the point?

I wish we had Apple NZ, not Renaissance. We must be the only country with a non-standard Apple website (www.apple.co.nz), and it sounds like the Store is going to be their own (probably lame) design as well.

you'll be relieved to know that Iceland's website looks like an apple site with a store but it too is a different company.

Checked it out to see if it is any better than some of the online Aussie stores. Heh the fact they have 10+ year old games for sale is quite amusing. I can remember playing them on a mac IIcx with no issues. Mind you aussie online stores arent much better. The one that advertises on mac rumors talks about 3 year old games being "BRAND NEW" the emphasis being theirs.

That's interesting because Renaissance's product info pages say that you will be able to order BTO systems from the online Apple Store. They also say you can order BTOs from authorised resellers.

By the way, you might want to read my letter to Apple, it's posted in a thread from a couple of days ago "US/Australia Price Debate" or something.
