hihi windows user attempting to go mac.
please help.

looking @ new 17" pb

questions:
how much ram do i need?
mostly doing internet surfing/email but also need to use virtual pc to attach to firm's network
occasionally will have to run complicated spreadsheets (huge, horrible, macro-laden excel monsters)

what benefit do i get from faster HD? is it any noisier than the slower one?

now, the important questions:
i have fond memories of playing risk on older macs......how do i track down a copy of this old game and is there any problem running it on osX ?
was there ever a loderunner version for mac? if so, where do i find one?

thanks for any help !

I found this similar game to Risk called Lux

Most older Mac games work fine in Classic mode.

Yes they had Lode Runner for Mac.

RAM? I would say 1GB is perfect. OS X loves RAM. You can get by with less, but I think that's perfect for OS X. Don't buy extra RAM from Apple however, they are way too expensive.
I would go for the faster HD. Saving, Opening is snappier, anything that read or writes to the HD will be quicker. I don't know about noise on the 17" though.
