    Out of curiosity, whats the chain of command in Mac-Rumors "titles"? How does one graduate from newbie to regular to demi-god and that numbery thing. Is it based on duration of membership, or number of posts, or if you purchase macrumors merchandise? Are there certain levels to reach? ie once you post X number times, you become a regular...

    Newbie = 0 - 29 posts
    Member => 30 posts
    Regular => 100 posts
    6502 => 500 posts + you can have avatar
    65816 => 1000 posts
    65832 => 1500 posts
    68000 => 1505 posts
    68010 => 2000 posts

    What's with you and bringing up poop in every thread?

    You can't resist letting one thread go by without a reference to your bowels?

    seriously...:cool:

    Why the occasional gap of only 5 posts?

    Also why not add:

    68030 => 2500
    68040 => 2505 (keeping with the pattern)
    68LC040 (same as 68040, but only if your posts haven't had much content ;))
    601 => 3000
    603(e, ev?) => 3005
    604(e?) => 3500
    750(c, cx, cxe, fx?) => 3505
    7400 => 4000 (7410 for low content)
    7450 => 4005 (7440 for low content)
    970 => 4500

    note: the "low content" stuff is just a really nerdy joke

    It's how "The MAN" keeps control...

    Honestly, we seem to have post like this every two weeks or so. Maybe Arn should come up with a notice for newbies to read before going further into posting threads: something like this:

    IF YOU'RE A MACRUMORS "NEWBIE" READ THIS POST...

    Or something like that. Have it in every discussion section. Maybe that will remove this issue? I dunno. I had the same question myself but was too lazy to ask the question! :D

    Actually, these also currently exist:

    68040 => 3000 (?)

    601 => 5000

    Don't know if arn's added any others.

    The geek thread was so full of spam you could have fed a medium sized village in Africa, and the majority of the posts were by 4-5 people.

    The poop thread has a lot more going for it...

    whoops

    yeah my apologies for posting without searching. i tried, but my damn internet was acting so slow today and i didn't know what to put in the search (ranking...newbie...i dunno), so i didn't quite feel like putting up with one ridiculously slow search after the next. man i dont know what it is but the 'net has been crawling today...

    tho i must say, theres some anti-newbie-ism goin' on around here! i have a good feeling that a great deal of the newbies, including myself, have been reading this site for a while and know a good deal about macs or computers or whatnot, we just simply dont post alot....my # of posts is somewhere around 15-20 i think...

    Oh well, thanks for responding everyone...gonna work towards that "macrumors regular" title...cuz i think any of those numbers are a great deal away! : )

    I must be suffering from a mild case of dyslexia...

    I keep reading people's avatars wrong. When I read MarksEvilTwin, I usually read it too fast and it looks like:

    EvilMarkTwain.

    But that's just me. :D

    RE: Poop Thread
    Yes, I actually ventured there a few days ago (I am so ashamed of admitting that. Dang! Dang! Dang!) Anyway, eye, I have three initials that keep popping into mind: WTF?

    Tell me, what would duke be if he wasn't a mod/demi-god ? 68040, or something even higher? :D
