i ordered an Acer 26" monitor from newegg on dec. 16. it was lost twice by UPS and another couple delivery exceptions with tracer put on it.
i asked newegg to refund my money. i didn't want a defective monitor that had been rattling around in trucks, lost, etc for a month. i can imagine horrors.

    UPS attempted delivery tuesday 1/9.
during the interim period, many reviews were posted about this monitor. every single one said it would not work on dvi. they could get it to work on vga under lesser resolution.

newegg has been out of stock for 2½ weeks.
I didn't want the monitor and refused it.
i wanted the monitor with the dvi fixed. not too much to ask for.

11:11 a.m. today UPS confirmed delivery to newegg.

11:48 a.m. today NewEgg issues me an auto-notify that the monitor i want to buy is in stock.

newegg staff is less than helpful on the origin of the ONE they have in stock and will not verify if they received an order from acer in the last 24 hours or so. they won't tell me if it's a new revision
they're trying to re-sell me the monitor i just returned to them.

Sounds more like a UPS scandal since they managed to lose it twice.

If Newegg won't tell you which model it is, the answer is simple... buy it from somebody else.

Yeah, I was expecting a big story. I was a little disappointed. To the OP, if there's such a problem, why not just buy a different model. You won't have to deal with Newegg, and probably won't have the problems with the monitor that this model has.

    ok, scandalous instead of scandal

it's just scandalous that they would try to sell me something i had just returned to them.

guess i'll bite the bullet and settle for a 24", maybe from dell. but 26" sounds sooo good.

Yeah I am not following where the Newegg Scandal came from but whoever told you to buy from someone else is right. Newegg is an upstanding company in my opinion--more upstanding than I believe MacMall to be. We all have our opinions and frankly it comes down to whether or not we feel we've been wronged by the company in question. Buy another monitor from someone else and next time try to do some more research before buying because in the end it comes down to you finding out the purchase you made sucked and by the graces of God UPS ****ed with the shipment (as usual and it's an exception when there is not a problem with UPS). By UPS screwing up you keep your cash and you have a so-called purported scandal to speak of on your favorite forums...everyone is a winner.

I dont see a scandal, but I would really recommend that you eMail their service department. Their service department is very helpful and will do anything, I really mean anything, to make a customer happy. I had my share of problems at Newegg.com, however, they fixed it with no issues at all. I understand your frustration, however, just give them a little more time to fix the issue. I would really try the eMail customer service support route, they are prompt and try to solve your issues within the first 2 emails or so.
    Good luck :)
