    Hi all,

I've looked into the automator earlier, but I was not able to figure this one out.

Lets say I have a couple of applications that needs to be refreshed at a certain time of day. Mail.app for example, since I only use mail on my iMac from time to time - i would like the mail.app to open each night. This way, I wouldnt have to sync 400 mail each time I opened the application. The mac is at sleep during the night, so it has to be waken up from the script as well.

    I'm thinking something like:
    Code:
    tell application mail.app open
    wait 180 seconds
    tell application mail.app quit
And some way to wake it? Any tips?

Not sure if this would do it but system preferences > energy saver > wake for network access.

if i recall correctly thats meant to wake the mac when another computer on the net wants some resource it has (like file, etc)

@Paul: i think there were some tricks you could do with Calendar where you could set up a script to run and would wake the mac if it was asleep. Depending on your version os OSX you might look into PowerNap
