Seems about right. Now with Sony out of the picture this year for Europe, they dont need to rush it out till then.

£149 means that we can expect €199 & $199 prices for Europe & the States.

Before someone says it - No those figures arent going on direct currency rates, but pricing models as they stand on all other hardware today....

About what we all realistically expected...

The title of the thread make it sounds like it's comfirmed fact when it's still only someone's educated guess. Sorry to be picky but the thread title got me excited for nothing. :D

    Edit: This just in:

It also says it will be release by November 24th which I think everybody assumed... if they release it today it's still released by November 24th. Sounds like a big article of guesses.

aw bugger. I wanted my system sooner. anyways... November gives me time for my game fund to rise a little. £150 is a sexy price. thats £50 cheaper than the PSP giga pack, or £20 more than the core pack!

Still I suppose this means there will be a LOT of Wii's out there. thank god it's not going to be a 360/PSP or expected PS3. thank bloody god.

£150 puts that at ~$280, which doesn't sound bad but doesn't seem right for some reason.

Anyway, I went to Wal Mart and asked the guys at the electronics counter (before anyone bashes me, in my town Wal Mart will be the only place that sells the thing and I'd have to drive 60 minutes to find some place else that carried it) and they mentioned the availability would be no problem. They're going to put them on the shelves 5-6AM the day of the release and not have any special event.

Which is curious, though, that a guy who works the counter in Wal Mart would even know such particulars....

He doesn't know. He probably reads the same websites we do

At $200 (?) that's a decent price for a new console. Anything more, from my standpoint I'll have to wait and see before I jump into it. Besides, I won't have money for such things until after the holidays. :(

I wish Nintendo would have stuck with calling it the Revolution.

Everytime I hear "Wii" two words come to mind: 'French' and 'Bathroom'.

    Weird, I know.

£149 wouldn't surprise me. If it came with Wii Sports it would be a killer deal.

£149 is $279.569 based on today's currency exchange rates. However, it's likely we'll be getting it substantially cheaper than that, so I'm happy. :)

    Source?

Fake. Anyone can guess. Matt from IGN's survived doing that for years now.

READ THE SECOND POST!! I knew someone would do it....

If its £149 - it will be €199 and $199 accordingly.

This is evident on price structures of all the existing hardware. PS2, Xbox, Xbox360, DS etc....

Well, at least they didn't call it the Nintendo FrenchBathroom™

Although one would expect a bathroom to come with Connect24, would hate to have to boot the toilet and log into the sewer system before being able to use it.

I personally think of penis when I read or hear Wii. Perhaps I'm just even more immature than most. Especially when someone mentions that their girlfriend is excited about the release of the Wii. ;)

Nintendo themselves have said it's not true, but isn't far off at all from the truth.

As for £149 = $199, yes pretty much although £149 = $229 would seem just as likely IMO.

I was told by the guy that manages the local Gamestop that they'd be retailing it for $249. I can't really speak to the veracity; that's just what I was told. Salt is to your left.

It's still a far cry better than having to take out a title loan on my car to afford a PS3 and accessories.

249 is a reasonable price also.

If it's 200, I'll be the most pleased.

One note: Gamestop guys tend to be not to updated on all things gaming...

Well, I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if it did retail for $249, but I don't think it would be the standard "Console + 1 controller" for that price.

    Cant see it happening

this is why and it is slighly confusing.

$249 would mean a euro price of €249.

    dollar price usually always matches euro price ($399 xbox 360 = €399, $149 ds lite = €149)

However the UK price is then usually the currency conversion of the Euro price or slightly over/under

    € 399 xbox 360 = £271 (but its actually £279) or for the ds lite €149 - £101 (though its actually £99)

So $249 US would be literal conversion to €249 Euro , but €249 would mean a price of £175.

So if we take the £149 as real...... then it will be €199 which means it will be $199

I hope you understand and follow that.
