I have a 2 week old iBook G4. Since I got it, I've been using java (for a yahoo game I sometimes play) in Safari. It's caused problems, but it's been working ok for the most part. I downloaded Firefox because I prefer it in many ways, but java won't work on it (says I need to check my settings, but I do have java enabled in preferences). Today I decided to try Camino, but it said the same thing as Firefox. Now, the game won't even load in Safari. I don't get an error message, just a blank screen. Any ideas?

The reason is because Apple has given Safari access to the Java 1.4 JRE, but forces other browsers to use the old 1.3 plugin. I just did some Googling and found this article that has more info.

For now, you can try installing the Java Embedding Plugin software and see if that helps. Otherwise, you're stuck with Safari.
