This is probably going to fall on deaf ears but i wish there were more quality sports games available for the mac. I've recently picked up NHL Eastside Manager (although I have NO IDEA what I'm doing), OOTP Baseball and Football manager seen as those games seem to be about as "cutting edge" and recent as you can get in the sports genre. We need to get ported versions of Madden 2007, NHL07, some decent baseball games etc...

Anyone got any other advice or news on the sports games front for the mac?

Since you have an MBP, my suggestion is Boot Camp.

i tried boot camping but i'm the type of user that likes to jump back and forth between my work stuff and gaming. You're right though boot camp is the best option we have right now:)

I think there are entirely too many sports games available for the Mac. :D
Sorry, I couldn't resist, I hate sports games and sports in general... But good luck to you in finding more!

I wouldn't consider EA games if they were given to me - you should be ashamed of even wanting those crappy titles to dirty up your pristine mac

EA is the worst, they ruin every series they get their filthy hands on.

Now now your only option might be bootcamp or 3d accelerated parallels when (if) they release it,.

Some Mac developer is porting Championship Manager 2006 to Mac. This is another football management game, very similar to Footbal Manager.

This company is rather silly, Championship Manager 2007 is due out in a week or two, whats the point...

Go play sega nfl2k5 it still holds up better than the tripe crap from ea...
nba07 just got its ass reamed by the nba2k7 and nhl has been consistently better by sega vs ea

as to baseball nobody could make that interesting - i would rather watch paint dry

i'm not saying that sega isn't good, or nba2k7 isn't good. i personally wouldn't buy nba live, i love the nba series...all the way back to dreamcast.

but ea is the only one that make pc games, so you don't have a choice.

    and madden has gotten better.

and i must say, i laughed when i read your comment about baseball. but i think watching baseball is boring, but not playing the games

you always have a choice - don't buy it and maybe we can start a grassroots movement to bring the nfl back to sega

There would be more games like madden, but EA does have that little little exclusivity deal... ;)

I have my principles and will never buy a football game until the ea/nfl excluvisity deal runs out in a few years...if they renew well it just means I don't waste $50 buck a year when sega gave me free roster updates or get the new version for $20
