I didn't see this opened up for the 3G S meetup. Was wondering who will be at 12 Oaks??

I can say I will be there!

I'll be there! I didn't realize they're opening at 7AM, I thought it was 8: http://www.apple.com/retail/twelveoaks/ What time are you planning on showing up? I was thinking 6AM, but if they're opening at 7 I might be tempted to go a little earlier…

I plan on getting there around 6AM. I called the Apple Store today (twice) to talk to different people and get an idea of what is going on. Basically I was "pre-authorized" through Apple's Website yesterday... But, since I was so late tot he party, I will not officially have one saved to my name.

However, I confirmed that they have a certain number of reserved iPhone's and the rest are for walk-in customers. Pre-authorization will just make the transaction smoother. I am not guaranteed a phone though. I don't think you will have a problem getting one if you shouw up at 6AM.

I have to be to work by 9AM, so I am hoping the line isn't too bad, and the process goes much faster than last year's. As long as the server doesn't fail this time like last year, should be in and out pretty quickly.

I am 14th in the non reservation line. Maybe 30 in the reservation lines.

I will be there between 5-6 AM as well. Let's just hope the computer systems stay up long enough for us on the east side to get our phones!

    Where do we line up?

I am going to try to be at 12 Oaks between 5 and 6 as well. Does anyone know where we can begin to line up?

^ AT&T won't have walk-in phones available, so unless you reserved/pre-ordered one there, it'd be best to go to Apple.

I'm definitely going to the Best Buy in Novi, rather than Apple. I called Apple, and they said you need to wait outside of the mall by the parking lot. The mall opens at 6, at which point there will be a mad rush of people racing to the apple store which opens an hour later. No thanks, Best Buy it is.

I have been reading the meetup threads for Sumerset and Briarwood mall, and it seems like Apple Store employees have escorted the line that formed outside the mall to the Apple store. I expect them to do this at 12 oaks as well, so there probably won't be a mad rush. At least I hope there won't be one.

    Where to line up

Spoke with 12 oaks security. They say best place to line up is doors by sears and lord and Taylor bu that anyone seen on property before 5am whether in line or waiting in your car will be asked to leave after one warning I was told that novi police will be contacted and tresspassing violations will be issued!

    As of now..

I'm currently waiting in line now. There are currently approx 100 people, all waiting inside. There is a large man snoring extremely loud and a man wearing baseball cleats. The kind folks at Apple are giving out free water and snacks.

In which line and where is the line at? Preorder or non preorder?

Also have the apple folks given any indication of how many extra iPhones they have outside of preorders?

There is only 1 line inside. Inbetween Sears and Lord and Taylor. Lots of cars, cant miss it. No one has had the balls to ask the apple folks how many phones and they disappeared with the snack cart.
The cleats guy is sitting in front of carnival cuts (he is very talkative and friendly and you should definitely ask him about them!!!) Blue Shirt, Moustache and Jeans. Black Nike Cleats.
