As far as from competition? No, nVidia has a firm grasp on the high end market. AMDs Vega series is just around the corner and rumors appear optimistic however we will need to wait and see.
If you mean graphic cards in general then yes, nVidia's new Titan X (sometimes referred to as the Titan XP or X(P) to avoid confusion) is a higher end card then the GTX 1080.
