Hi, I just phoned O2 in uk and I have asked them about new rules enforced from 1st of July regarding roaming charges. It is important for iPhone users since iPhone is data hungry device as we all know. By law all EU countries must from today set cap on their charges and the new tariffs will have the following maximum costs: - making a call while abroad will cost 37p per minute - receiving calls will cost a maximum of 17p per minute - sending a text message from another country inside the EU will cost 10p - Data transfers will also fall dramatically, with a megabyte of data costing 85p About the last one; O2 say nothing about dropping charges for data transfer which is set currently on £3/MB. To be honest I don't really know how to take it. It is the law and I am surprised that O2 customer service know nothing about it. Is there anyone else who get to the bottom of this? I am off for 3 weeks to EU with my iphone and I want to know what the charges really are.
