    The scary thing is that at the time, his advice was probably the smart thing to do. It was touch and go for about the next five years.

    Apple was expected to fail. The shareholders would get less in bankruptcy than in Dell's plan.

    He's wanted Apple out of the way for a long time. Even when Apple was doing well, he said that the company should go away. Now, their own schemes are causing them pain. Maybe, they should give up and go away.

    uhhh.... absolutely not the "smart thing" to do --- that would be the DUMBEST thing to do, considering all the resources one has at their disposal

    the "smart thing" to do would be to cut down the corporate bureacracy, invest heavily in R&D of new products, get rid of non-selling products, etc ---- exactly what Jobs did

    Michael Dell is an arrogant prick
