I took this screenshot and circled a few things (take screen shots in windows by pressing Prnt Scrn or Sysrq keys above insert) and if you just look at it and read it its funny but it kinda has made me mad:

Sorry man. It is still not showing and that link isn't working either. (For me at least). Did you use the 'insert image' button on the form?

let it finish, i think the two will show a difference afterwards, and I believe that if those files aren't fragmented, they will not be moved.

Hooray! And thanks, jzieske, for helping out.

slooksterPSV, you seem to be defragmenting a disk that isn't going to get much benefit from it. But what's your question/comment?

Well it says its compacting files and yet the files are getting spread worse apart, even at the end of defragmenting the files are further than from where they started from. I just thought it was kinda odd/funny/etc. Kinda idiotic huh

Just a note - I see that you've taken a screenshot then "cut out" the window that you want. I quicker way is to press Alt+Print Screen, which takes a shot of the current window.

Doesn't Windows cut out that free space after it has placed the bits of each file together? Maybe that hasn't happened yet. After all, the bottom says, "Defragmenting: 1% Compacting Files." The process probably isn't done yet.

I can't believe I contributed to this thread.

Are you using a compressed file system? That pretty much ruins any gains you get from defragging.
