    Hi macrumors members,

I was wondering if someone could answer this question for me or who has done it before.

I have an iPhone 4 from Verizon that's still under contract until February 12, 2013.

If I buy an iPhone 5 (full price) and then activate it on my account, am I able to sell my iPhone 4 to someone on ebay and have them still be able to activate the phone on their account?

I'm not canceling my contract or making any changes to my plan. I'm just changing phones.

    Thanks in advance! :)

Yes. The phone number, or line, is under contract. Not the phone.

Thank you for the very quick reply. You guys are a lot nicer on this forum than most other forums.

What he says is true. The phone is yours. At any point you can do anything with it. It's your responsibility to finish the contract with any acceptable phone (or no phone if you wish).
