I keep hearing time and again that the MacBook Pro/MacBook suffer from various "bugs". What bugs exactly... I ask this because I will be purchasing one before college in teh fall  .... and it better last me 4 years lol
I know my G3 PowerBook has lasted forever, and the emac... its just an emac big woop, its slow.

Can anyone list the issues they have personally experienced with their Macbook pro?

My MacBook Pro (Week 21, 15" 2.0 GHz) is perfect. It runs cool, much cooler than my PowerBook G4 1.67 GHz. There is no moo or whine. I can't fault the MacBook Pro at all, it is the best notebook I've ever used.

Some run hotter than comparable dual-core laptops. This varies widely - in a 72-75F room, my 15.4/2.0 idled at 43-46C, there are reports of them idling as much as 20C hotter.

Many exhibit a high-pitched whine (something of a clicking, on-off on-off) coming from near the processor under light loads. The noise was unbearable for me, so my week-22 MBP had to be returned.

Some exhibit a moo - the sound of a fan motor spinning up, maxing out and shutting down over and over. I think this was fixed in a firmware update for MBPs, but maybe not.

No problems at our company. We upgraded twelve of our project managers from Dell's and HP's and they all love them. In fact, those not upgraded are making quite a fuss to get the upgrades too.
