I just bought an old all in one G3 off ebay for $50. No os is installed and the computer is at work right now so unfortunately, I can't mess with it right now.

It's this one here

http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g3/stats/powermac_g3_266_aio.html

I want to install OS X on it or 9.2, but the only software I have is the Jaguar installation CD that came with my powerbook and the set of Panther CDs that I bought when I upgraded.

Is it possible to install anything on this beast with what I have or will I have to go on ebay and find an old copy of an old OS?

Has anyone had any success with this? I know I'll need xpostfacto to install panther, but I'd be fine with Jaguar. Has anyone installed Jaguar off of the CDs that came with the powerbook onto another computer?

Thanks in advance.

jaguar runs fine on a beige g3

I've had osx jaguar on a beige g3 (266 tower) and it works well.
It's faster than puma (10.1), and apple also supports 10.2 on beiges.
Be sure to up your memory to atleats 256 mb or it will be dog slow...

If you have a hd larger than 8 gb you'll need to partition it.
Where 1st partition has to be <7.8 gb and contain osx.

It you have installed 10.1 then boot from your 10.2 cd and upgrade to 10.2.

btw, 10.3 wont run on a beige (it will with lots of work...)
