Very unlikely that it'll be implemented now, but hey you never know I guess..
Anyway, we all know that Lion is what Apple believes to be the best of the Mac plus the best of iOS in one super squishy awesome OS.

Today, I was browsing my Twitter timeline, and I thought: "Oh man, it would be awesome if I could click the browser title and be whisked back up to the top" (just like on iOS).

What are you thoughts on this? I think it would be a neat little addition. Even if it was implemented in Safari alone that would be cool, but even for Pages (etc), it would be so much easier to tap the title bar instead of scrolling through my multiple page essay or report!

    Cmd+Up arrow key.

But the idea in my opinion is very feasible and appropriate.

Just be an option on the toolbar - button to reach to the start of html document.

D'oh I use it all the time and completely forgot about cmd+up ;) !
That said, if and when Apple make the merge to touch screen computing, this would be an awesome feature.

I disagree. Why would I want my window to scroll upwards every-time I click on the title bar to move the window?

    I think it's a nice thought.

But there is a big diffrence in desktop of iOS devices.
When dragging around a window I most of the time grab the top of my window.
You don't have this issue on a iPhone of iPad.

Good point. I guess though a differentiation would be made in that it wouldn't scroll when the window is moved.

I use 3-finger swipe up in firefox and it works great. Very intuitive as a gesture.

I use BetterTouchTool and have 3 fingers up set as scroll to the top of the page. With smooth scrolling on, it looks pretty much exactly the same as on the iPhone. And I have 3 fingers down set as the bottom of the page (which the iPhone can't do :)).

I didn't know Firefox had this built in. That's interesting. But BetterTouchTool can be set to do this everywhere, so it works in Finder, iTunes, Safari, etc.

I use ScrollToTopButton, it's just like the button on tumblr,
http://scrolltotopbutton.com/ it's really smooth. But I do think it is a function worth adding into Safari, especially if they're going to reverse the scrolling to make it more like iOS as well.
