When I connect my camera to the computer, iPhoto opens by default, so I have to close it, then open Lightroom, then File>Import. LR has the option to open an import dialogue when it is running and detects a memory card, but is there a way to set my Mac to launch LR as the default application when I connect my camera? I'm pretty sure the option must be there somewhere, but I've been looking for a while and it's so far eluded me.

Thanks

I too, would be interested if this is possible... It's not something too bothersome, just a minor annoyance.
Glad to see it's not just me then. Was feeling like an idiot not being able to find it.
It is only a minor issue, but having iPhoto butt into my workflow just seems very... unApple.

Go to Applications -> Image Capture.

Then select preferences -> general.

Change "When a camera is connected, open:" to Lightroom, or like me Aperture!

Hope this helps.

That's great, Laurence - thanks for that.

Using a third application to choose between another two actually seems quite... Apple-like.

Thanks again.
