Nice. I got a free registration number during a promotion they were running a few weeks back, so haven't had to deal with the ads. The browser itself is pretty nice, and I use it from time to time. Some of the preferences are complicated to find and manage, but overall it's been stable.

I'm sure they'll get more users now that it's ad-free (except for the sites you visit, of course).

Opera is not really stable (maybe it's better with the new 8.5) but I recommend it to everyone who wants a feature-rich browser.
One of the features is the ability to continue at startup exactly where you have been quitting (or crashing) thus rendering the stability problems quite negligible.
