I have always found optical illusions interesting. Try scanning this image with your eyes and note the dots at the line intersections.

    Re: Optical Illusions

I have to be the first to point out that Durandal7 meant the phantom GRAY dots that you see at the intersection of the lines. There really ARE white dots in that drawing. :p

I love those optical illusions, but I must say, now I am seeing spots every time I blink...my favorite are those 3d pictures, though, not sure if they are truly illusions. I have one with a space shuttle orbiting over a planet that is pretty neat. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's like these...

Either that is one great optical illusion or I am just in desperate need of sleep.

I don't think so, because if you focus on just one at a time, you see that they don't move. It isn't until you look at the whole picture that they seem to be spinning, hence the whole optical illusion. Now, if they were animated, then I'd just feel like a fool. ;)

No, after 5 minutes of staring, I still can't make out the boat in the background.

I like this one - it's only from a certain spot with certain light, but tilt your head to the right and look at it again.

They used to for me, then I read that means you are going cross-eyed and are not doing it correctly. It takes a bit more of a knack to get them to come out at you.

I think I've seen that one before. The first time I saw it I was pretty surprised.
