orange screed tint and brighness control not working

Probably two different things...My indigo 366 iBook has a slight orange tint when it is turned on that gradually fades but seems present a bit. I also tried to change brigtness and realize that the brightness control does not function. Any ideas on either or both...maybe backlight on screen? ...maybe ppwer management unit needs resetting (or so I have read)? and is there another way to adjust brightness in OS9...I can't find one..Thanks

It sounds like the bulb in your LCD may be going out, in which case you'll need to have it replaced. There are a few places that may do the repair for you, or you can try doing it yourself. Here's a link if you'd like to take it on.
