I just opened it up to add some memory. Put it back together and try to power it up, its like it is plugged into a dead wall socket, yet it isnt. Anyone got any suggestions? Its my 3 yr olds and I need to get it running. It was running prior, I had just shut it off to install memory.

Have you tried both power buttons, the one on the keyboard and the one on the machine itself?

How about resetting the Power Management Unit? Do you have the original manuals?

Congrats. The PMU can be the culprit many a times. I've had 2 issues with my iBook in the past and both were PMU things.

Glad to hear your kid is back in business though! Woot!

Well it pays to start em young. She is lucky, my first Apple as an Apple II, and at home a Performa 6300 CD, she can actually browse the internet if she wants to!
