    Hey all,
Hoping someone can help me. Yesterday I attempted to replace the hard drive on a friends original MBA. After getting the old hard drive out I realized that the new hard drive would not work (SATA, and not PATA).

Anyhow, I got everything back together for her until the new hard drive was delivered. When I started the computer it hung on the gray Apple logo for about 20 minutes or so. I shut it down, and popped the bottom case off and verified that everything was reconnected properly. After this any subsequent boots end with the computer shutting off about a minute after the gray Apple logo.

I am not getting anything indicating that the hard drive can not be found (No flashing icon). The sleep indicator is active for a few seconds on boot up (So the logic board should be ok, I hope).

Any help would be really appreciated. I felt so bad that I broke her computer I gave her mine as a loaner.

    Thanks,
    E

I'm thinking it may be a RAM problem, but am unsure.

    Any help would be amazing!
