os x file system

    can anyone explain the os x file system and how it works to me? i'm really curious about it...no need to dumb it down either

    what do you mean?? hfs+ or the the philosophy of file structure?

    a bit off topic, but have you checked your messages lately, sparkleytone?;) :)

    now, back on topic... i'm also interested in the OS X file structure, not HFS+ (well maybe some of that...) but how OS X handles files and archives/sorts them etc... hard to explain what i don't know.:p :)

    just wanted to bring this thread to the top again.

    so does anyone know about how UNIX handles files and storage? what about some good sites that explain some UNIX stuff?

    i want to know about the file structure and why it's not so necessary to defragment the hard disk
