    how about file->print->pdf. doesn't that do the same thing?

    I guess that's better than taking a screenshot, scrolling down the page, taking another screen shot, repeating this as long as necessary and then sewing together the screenshots in Gimpshop.

    Websites look different when printed. In fact, may actually have a different stylesheet when the output device is something other than the browser window.

    Wouldn't saving a page as a webarchive accomplish the same thing and take up less disc space (than a .jpeg?)

    Protected pages, found in some academic "virtual" libraries don't properly encode when copied, printed or saved as a pdf, etc... This circumvents the applied rights management. This is one of the purposes that I can think of.
