Im at my wits end with this, basically this is my set up

Wireless broadband router ~~[Wireless]~~ PowerBook --[wired]-- Xbox

my routers IP on the network is 192.168.1.1
My powerbooks airport IP is 192.168.1.2
My powerbooks ethernet IP is 192.168.2.1
    my Xboxs IP is 192.168.2.2
    subnet for all is 255.255.255.0

i can transfer files to and from the Xbox and Powerbook fine. Its just internet sharing, I'm running Xbox Media Centre and its got some wonderful internet features like weather download, game and film trailer downloads. and of course Kai Xlink.
im no smart guy in networking. i just put numbers in and hope for the best. my knowledge here is minimal, can anyone help? i know there has to be a simple answer that im way overlooking :)

Sounds like XBMC problem and not your router or Macs settings.

The mac and the XBOX are communicating, but XBMC doesnt seem configured to go thru the router to get to the internet, only to allow FTP to your mac.

Did you turn Internet Sharing on? Go to System Preferences > Sharing. Click the Internet Tab. There you should be able to turn Internet sharing on. Set the option "Share your conenction from:" to Airport and hit the check box next to "Built-in Ethernet". Click Start and your xbox should now be able to connect to the internet.

I did that same setup with my PB and PS2 and it worked great.

Make sure that you enabled the sharing and that the firewall is off.

Also make sure your Xbox is getting a DHCP IP address.
