I hear that Apple executive are suffering from severe audio attenuation issues due to severe cases of Cranial Rectal Inversion.

Doesn't the *fact* that the phone often has problems if you touch it make you wonder about your belief?
Seeing as we have seen many forum posters who have had problems, as well as many who have not, I suspect there are situations, hopefully fixable by software (all just speculation though), that Apple missed or overlooked, which affect some users but not others.

There's no way I can think Apple would've never had it out of a case with an exposed antenna. Surely they wouldn't be that stupid...

Apple could learn a lot from Microsoft in this area.

I lol'd :D

You have faith, I only have facts.

The fact that 2.4 times as many people are running Windows 7 as are running all versions of OSX combined is evidence that Microsoft has a handle on QA. Apple *could* learn some things from Microsoft.

Let's see the facts then. Jumping to the conclusion that Apple only ever used the phone in a case doesn't make it a fact. When the first 27" iMacs had screen problems, did you assume that Apple did all their testing without using the built-in display?

The only fact is that some iPhones have exhibited signal loss issues from being held in a certain way. That's it. Your ridiculous guess that Apple never tested their new product out of a case, is no more of a "fact" than my guess of them doing so.

And Windows has greater marketshare, yes. That's nothing new. I fail to see how that makes it better, especially seeing as MS have had far more product flops (or premature, rushed launches) in their history than Apple.

Where did u get the fact that there are 2.4 times people running win7 than all OSX combined?

u are saying for every 100k windows 7, there are at least ~40k people using OSX?

apple is defnitely the king in the smartphone market... but on the desktop, i don't think OSX even come close to 1k.... it's like for every 1 user of OSX there are at least 100 win 7 users.

I think it's only evidence that Microsoft still has their IBM given monopoly over the PC platform and that's about it.

You can't compare desktop OS marketshare and use it as a metric of quality or anything else unfortunately. It hasn't been about quality or usability or anything really since DOS 1.0 saw the light of day on a IBM PC.

Even you should know and readily admit that.

The rapid adoption of Windows 7 is evidence that it's a pretty solid release.

I believe that an important factor in that was Microsoft's open public beta program.

And, I didn't claim that the Iphone 4 was *never* tested without a case - only that it seems that it wasn't widely tested, in strong and weak signal areas, with a variety of different fleshy body parts. (The alternative would be to make the cynical assumption that's been mentioned here - that Apple knew of the antenna problem and came out with the bumpers to address it.)

The rapid adoption of Windows 7 is evidence of much ink and e-ink being dropped about how bad Vista was, no matter if any of it was true or not.

Again, Desktop OS marketshare, adoption, etc.. has not been about quality since Microsoft's stranglehold on it became a reality with their initial partnership with IBM.

Quite true, despite the fact that XP users currently retain 63% of market share, while Vista holds 15%, confining Windows 7 to 12%.

As you said, MS's sizable Desktop OS market share has never been attributed to quality - their IBM partnership windfall has been their singular, default 'Window' of the past.

With a sustained stagnation at 78%, W7 adoption has a daunting road ahead.
