I hate starting out on a new forum with an issue but here we go :p

After the update all my flags in Outlook are gone! Weirdly even after adding new ones straight after syncing with IMAP these are gone as well. Interestingly they appear fine on my iPhone and on one of the PC's in our office.

It's not a server issue as I've tested this with our business one, GMail and Yahoo. Has anyone came across it yet?

The mess-up process is simple: Add Follow Up Flag to an e-mail -> Sync with server fetching mail -> Flag's gone from Outlook (and syncs on all other machines connected to this account).

    Go Microsoft.

I had the same problem and only managed to fix it by re-installing office without the latest update. I couldn't find a solution to fix it in the latest update, so had to go back to the previous version.

Awwww RATS! I think I installed an update...

I guess I'll try that, but I'm curious: did all of your previously red flag items reappear or are you just able to create new ones?

The day I abandoned Outlook was a marvelous day.

    Alternatives to Outlook, besides mail.app?

What do you use instead? If it's mail.app, I already tried that for 5+ months and did not enjoy it. I had hoped I would so that I could leave Outlook behind...but the threading of messages was too confusing.

The updated Mail.app on Mountain Lion (or maybe it changed in Lion) is pretty sweet IMO. You can customize the message threading in Mail.app and disable it entirely. I'm very very organized with my email messages and Outlook consistently presented with numerous IMAP folder and Calendar inconsistencies that were not healthy for my psyche. Short of using online managers alone, Mail.app was the best option, especially if you use a lot of Apple devices.

How do you do this? It would make my day to get my email reminders back. :)

Removed Office 2011 completely and did a re-install, just like I used to do on Windows every couple of weeks :D

I'm another who abandoned Outlook and went back to:

    1.) Apple Mail
    2.) BusyCal
    3.) Apple Contacts
    4.) Apple Notes

I manage 5 email accounts with Apple Mail. You can switch "conversations" off and go back to classic view. It also just integrates so well with my calendar. And even though I have an Exchange account, I prefer iCloud which synchs all my notes. (My Exchange account won't do that).

Outlook is ok but a bit bloated for me. Too many quirks.

Just chiming in to follow this thread....same here with the latest Outlook. Hoping Microsoft fixes it. I hate Outlook.....but I too haven't found a better solution. I use it only for my business, I use Mail.app for personal.

As a followup, a MSFT person on their forums stated it is a bug and will likely be fixed next path Tuesday (6/11):

Also.....the recommendation of restoring Outlook from time Machine works perfectly. Since the app has nothing to do with the mail data....a quick trip into Time Machine and you can restore version 14.3.2 and everything works again. No need to reinstall.

Does Tuesday's 12.3.5 update fix the flag issues?
