This 91 point gromac has taken two weeks to get to 33% on a 1.6ghz G5 that is lightly used for web browsing and word processing during the day.

is anyone else experiencing this? i'm dumbfounded. I don't want to just kill the process because it is taking forever, but this is really not working very well, and i don't understand why at all...this machine gets through 200+ point tinkers in 4 days, usually, and this little gromac has brought the machine to its knees.

any knowledge, anyone?

That seem a bit long, especially on your G5. Are you folding 24 / 7 ? My G5 2 GHz, not sure on the timing, but seems to complete, the thing in a day or so. (when the p1094 doesn't end up being an early ender, which there prone to be) The only thing I can think of, is the Altivec enabled? this can accidently turned off if the if the folding client was turned off improperly. Which the results on a Gromac (such as p 1094) is really sad.

If you look in the Fah log txt file you will see something like this.
[07:53:22] Project: 1094 (Run 4, Clone 17, Gen 14)
[07:53:22]
[07:53:22] Assembly optimizations on if available.
[07:53:22] Entering M.D.
[07:53:42] (Starting from checkpoint)
[07:53:42] Protein: p1094_RN24_helix_350
snip
[07:53:58] Extra AltiVec boost OK.
