After upgrading to Panther, I know have two versions of Illutrator 10 show up when I click "open with": version 10 and 10.0.3. I thought, no big deal, I'll just delete the old one from the Contextual Menu Items folder in my Home Library. Well, the ONLY item in my that folder is Toast (which was created when I installed Toast I assume).

The Volume/Library/Contextual Items Folder has none.

The Volume/System/Library/Contextual Items folder has only one: Folder Actions.

Where are all the crapload (I count 34for a JPG) of items in teh contextual menu? Its ultimately no big deal, each of the duplicates opens Illustrator. Any ideas? Is the Contextual Menu Items folder not used by Panther anymore? I would love to remove that second Illustrator option.

Um, I'm pretty sure it just gives you a list of programs that can possibly open the file in question. Doesn't have anything to do with putting certain items in a folder. If you want to end Illustrator 10.0.0 as an option, delete the program.

    I have only one version

LimeLite: Thanks for the response, but I only have one version: 10.0.3 which I upgraded from 10.0. All my apps are in the Applications folder, and my system is very organized. It's just one of those things that are almost insignificant and cause no problems but still drive me nuts. Has anyone else encountered this?
