Panther doesnt show spotlight

i just upgraded from 10.2.8 to 10.3.9 on my iBook and there isnt a spoghtlight magnigier glass next to the time and im pretty sure there should be. please help? everything else is fine i think.

Well, that would be because Spotlight wasn't introduced until Tiger (10.4.0). Sorry
