iOS Paragraphing in UITextView

I am using a UITextView to provide user instructions in a program, and I found that when entering text into the view in IB, I can separate it into paragraphs (a blank line between) by using Ctrl-return (return itself doesn't work).

But, when I finish the entry, and deselect the text space, the text all runs back together -- no paragraphs. Stays that way when I bring it up in the simulator, too.

Anybody out there know how to force paragraphs into the UITextView?
