Parallels the program that lets you run XP with OS X just went final. Anyone tried it yet. There is a demo available. http://www.parallels.com/en/

    Been using since first beta.

I know your not meant to be able to run games on it, but grim fandango works... guess the game just has to be old.

Does it still look like it was written for Linux, or have they tidied it up?

The UI is much better. They've been working on integrating the aqua GUI. Looks nice now.

I kinda figured that there are a lot of gamers running Boot Camp right now, I was curious if the final of Parallels matched performance at all. I know the beta still had video card driver problems.

??? You are seriously confused. Parallels has NO hardware video acceleration. They use software acceleration as it would be impossible to run the gpu in hardware mode, the gpu doesnt support vitualization.

Drivers are not a problem simply because it doesnt drive the gpu at all.

You can run old games with software acceleration, but you CAN NOT run anything from the last few years.

It's not meant for games period.

OK, I gave it a go, and it's still not very Mac-like, things like "press Ctrl-Alt" (instead of Control-Option) and "press Alt-Enter" (instead of Option-Return; Option-Enter doesn't even work!)

?? Don't know why they swallowed a fly, my oh my ??

Oh well for once we europeans have our keyboards marked properly rather than hold down option on boot? WHERES MY OPTION :p Feel like Homer wanting a fresh 'tab'....
