Hey guys, I just got my Mac Pro in, so my old MDD 867 is going to be re-commissioned as a file server. I'm going to need a PCI based PATA 133 card and a USB 2.0 card. Any inexpensive recommendations?

I've seen a few online, but I wanted to get some feedback first on what's worked for others.

Thanks

You'll need PCI Express versions of those cards. I am not aware of any PCI Express PATA cards, let alone any PCI Express PATA cards that will work in the Mac Pro specifically.

There is a free PATA port underneath the optical drive, but that doesn't (in my experience) play well with hard drives.

No No, I mean I need a PATA and USB 2.0 card for my MDD 867 G4.

The MDD used to be my desktop, it will now be a file server on the network. Understand? :)

check OWC - they have some cheap cards - though you can probably get em' even cheaper if you find out what chipset their card uses and get a generic off ebay.
