Pebble has published the algorithms that drive its native fitness tracking app, following the launch of its crowdfunding campaign for three new fitness-focused smartwatches, the Pebble Core, Pebble 2, and Time 2.

The move is a first in the wearables industry, and appears to be an effort by the company to demonstrate serious ambitions in the burgeoning "quantified self" and health data tracking fields.

If my watch asked me every day how I was feeling, eventually, I would become angry. It wouldn't be accurate data.

At least Pebble is doing more with their watch than making different colors of bands...

Amen, Brother.

I love my Pebble Time. I bought my wife an Apple Watch and though I find the Apple hardware to be far superior, I find the interface on the Apple Watch to be confusing compared to the Pebble.

I will take a look at the next Apple Watch though, to see if they make any improvements.

I'm surprised the Pebble Time didn't fail shortly after release as it looks like a child's toy. This doesn't help.
Pebble is doing quite well. They hit the sweet spot price point and the apps are native. It is the revenge of the Palm Pilot.

Oh for heaven sake Pebble, hire a designer. The screens looks horrendous.
Don't expect Apple level aesthetics at the price Pebble sells. The 8-bit look is part of Pebble's charm. Kinda funny to see Apple Watch users touch the Pebble screen expecting interaction.

There's no touch screen?
I love 8 bit graphics...in fact it would look highly retro cool. This stuff Pebble has just looks like the CEO's 14 year old daughter did in her spare time. :)
