Permanent deletion

    My mac keeps going screwy.

    Now and again instead of sending stuff to the trash when you delete, then you emptying the trash, it permanently deletes the junk after giving you this warning (see image)

    After I restart, it's back to normal.

    Anyone else get this...?

    Generally you only see this when you try and delete stuff off a mounted networked share, is that what you're doing?

    Nope. I'm just here on my own, no network at all.

    I've had it at work when you're working off a main server, it always asks to be sure, but it's just started doing this the last week or so...

    What version of the OS? Does this happen if you're logged in as another user?

    How much HD space do you have? Could it be that your drive is full?
