Yeah, at WWDC they had a photo of it next to the XtroVERT , and the PowerMac appeared to be slightly taller.

Since the handles are not removable, it looks to me like the new PowerMac can't be rack-mounted in a standard 19" rack.

    Yep-- from the Apple page:

    Height: 20.1 inches (51.1 cm)
    Width: 8.1 inches (20.6 cm)
    Depth: 18.7 inches (47.5 cm)
    Weight: 39.2 pounds (17.8 kg)

I suppose you could cut off the handles...   (I can't believe I said that!)

Guess they need to get that G5 Xserve out soon!

That whole album of photos is good.

Argh, I'm sick of looking at the G5 though - I have to look at it for the next couple of years . I'm gunna try to hide it under my desk the best that I can.

i definately think they could have made it shorter..
the fact that it is over 19" is just so it wont fit in a 19" rack
and companies will have to but Xserves

Trust me I'm no english major (in fact I did poorly in HS english), but that's an easy one. I'll give some examples:

She went to the store, then she went to the bank, then she went home.

Then is kind of like 'next'.

    Than is a comparison:

That Mac is faster than that PC.

After staring at the G5, I can't help myself thinking, "If they were forced to make it that tall, why couldn't they make it a little taller so they could fit another optical drive?"

Not that I need an optical drive, I just get annoyed when I hear everyone complain about it. :)
