And in other news ... the photographer should be kicked for their utterly crappy photos. :D

^ Seriously, couldn't someone with a proper camera or at least something other than a crappy mobile phone camera take a photo or two?

I'd like to see the cracked glass they had to replace too.

Interestingly, someone posted in the "Rumors of Hardware Updates Swirling" topic last night with photos they took on their phone from outside the Sydney store and everyone thought they were putting up something to do with the Mac refresh. Looking back at those pics now, they were clearly setting up for this.

I actually thought this was one of the more interesting stories on the site lately.

Someone (allegedly) shooting at stores in Sydney?
Replacing the glass requires almost shutting one of the busiest streets in the city?
It costs one million (Aus) dollars to replace one window pane?
The equipment do to this has to be custom made, and flown from half-way around the world?

I found the photos /story quite interesting.

It wasn't made clear, but these are actually some of the heaviest and largest panes of glass in the world.

Each pane of glass in the Apple store window is 13 meters tall, 4 metres wide and 4 inches deep (I guess they mean 11 or 12 cm).

Each pane probably weighs well over 10 tons. At 4 inches thick, they were probably intended to be bulletproof and last as long as the building. The damage is a crack extending about halfway up one of the panes.
