i recently used adobe photoshop cs3 to create a signature for one of the forums im in. I though it how I could create a transparent background that would go over whatever the color of background the website had, but when i converted it to a jpg to upload it through imageshack, it turned out to just be a white box with the shadow falling on the white and not the the actual site background. what do i do?!?

.jpg doesn't support transparency. You could check to see if the website supports .png files. I believe .png files support transparency.

Otherwise you could use Save For Web, and save it as a .gif with transparency. I think you can define what color to make transparent.

Just to confirm, png's do support transparency, and gif's do as well, but on a much simpler scale. if you have any sort of fade to transparent then png's the only way to go.
