Once you hit 500 posts, you can add an avatar using your profile pages.

click on your name on the left of a post you have done, and go to "View Public Profile"

then you can see how many posts you have, how many on average you have a day.... lots of fun stuff.

Click your username (public enemy) on one of your posts, go to your user profile, and find the post count on the left side, down a little bit.

Great link for avatar setup and gen ed. In general, trying using the search feature before you post a question to see if it has been discussed either in great detail or very recently. Just because you find it in the search doesn't neccesarily mean you can't ask it again but usually you can find the answer to your question without starting a new thread or hijacking a current one.

This idea of searching is very appreciated and will keep some of the more easily-annoyed members from yelling at you ;)

    500 Points

Thanks for the tip. I was looking in the control panel for ages to see how to add an avatar picture under my name.

So I guess this it the shameless bid to put me one reply closer to 500.

    Keep up the great site.

Read the Macrumors FAQ for all questions posed here.

This holds true for most sites. These types of questions are asked a lot... most sites have a post detailing this information.

You could always try a given site's FAQ.
