    Hey -

Just got the new 20" iMac and I was attempting to check out the movie trailers from Front Row. Do I need to downlload/watch the movies from Safari before I can see them in Front Row?

Also, does it take reeeeeaaaaaaaaallllllyy long to download?

Movie trailers will be streamed from the Apple site. They probably use your QT settings to determine quality, so it all depends on what kind of internet connection you have.

    thanks for responding, but...

being a no0b i was wondering if anyone could reccommend what i should set the quicktime settings at to get the optimal performance [best quality video in a bearable amount of wait time (>1 minute)]when streaming movie trailers to front row.

    any suggestions?

No, you do not need to download the movie trailers from Safari before watching them in Front Row.

Front Row streams it straight to your computer from the Apple Website.

Depending on your connection, it may or may not take long to stream. I have an iMac with FrontRow, and it starts to play instantly. No waits, no buffers, no lines.

--And then again, I have 3.0mbps/512kbps DSL.

It all depends on your connection, but once again, no you do not need to download the movie trailer from Safari before you can view it on Front Row. Front Row streams it, or downloads it on the spot, for you.

After you are finished watching the trailer, it automatically deletes the trailer.

im on a 6 megabit cable connection and it is infuriating. every time i try to watch a trailer, it keeps coming up with "there was a problem connecting to the trailers website" or somesuch then it will start playing again for 3 seconds then stop, then say the same error, then connect again, repeat ad nauseam.
it's a cool application but it has some serious bugs. i also consistently get errors trying to play anything from iTunes. it always keeps coming up "there was an error communicating with iTunes." and just stops. i have to force quit it to go away.
oh well, it's version 1.0. im sure it will get fixed soon enough.
